Managing Color Across Multiple Printers

Speaker: Juergen Roesch

This insightful presentation on managing color across multiple printers and media will prove to you once and for all that complicated color management processes can be automated for easy operation and exceptional results. New tools and devices use advanced algorithms that free the user from having to employ complex settings for an unparalleled match. Today's color management tools deliver ease of use, a streamlined production workflow and error-free operation. And while older solutions can be tuned to achieve good results, the time and steps necessary to get there are not fit for today's fast turnaround times in production. How Color Control Can Boost Your Sales

Speaker: Mark Gundlach

Don't sell print as a commodity… sell on color! Customers expect your output to match their important brand colors, and color control can help you exceed their expectations. This course discusses ways to talk to your customers about color. We'll show how to test and communicate PANTONE® spot color matching capabilities before you even send the file to print. We'll also look at the tools you can use to set realistic, achievable expectations through display calibration, soft proofing and proper file setup. With the right approach to color, you'll save money and time while growing repeat business by printing jobs faster and more accurately.

12:45 - 2:00

Linearization and Profile Optimization

Speaker: Mark Gundlach

The most common complaint in print production is lack of repeatable and accurate color. Sometimes a manufacturer's media profile can do the job, but other times you have to have a custom ICC profile. This course will show you how to establish a solid foundation through linearization, and how to use ICC profiles to achieve and maintain color accuracy. You'll learn the steps to take to get the best profile for your specific needs and how settings in your profile can influence the print quality as well as the cost. We'll explore common issues, such as when the same media requires different profiles for different uses. You'll leave the session knowing how to choose the best profile settings for your printer, ink, media and application.
