Title
Proper removal process for WallFlair products
Summary
Wall and/or paint damage during removal of WFRV and/or WFRF.
Details
Symptom
Wall and/or paint damage during removal of WFRV and/or WFRF.

Cause
Improper removal process; customer chose media that was not the best choice for the wall or paint; freshly painted walls that interacted with adhesive of WFRV and/or WFRF.

Solution

Proper removal of wall graphics is to peel slowly at 180 degrees angle.  If you become impatient and pull or snap the graphics at 90 degrees angle, you are adding an exponential amount of force.  This can remove paint and dry wall, especially for media that has higher tack adhesive.

Another reason for paint removal during the graphics removal phase can be due to paint that never dried and cured thoroughly.  Painted walls need a minimum of 30 days to properly dry and out gas.  If wall graphics are applied before the paint properly cures, it can peel off during graphics removal.

Lastly, the chosen wall graphics may have too aggressive of an adhesive for that particular wall/paint combination.  Proper testing of a variety of printed wall graphics media is helpful in choosing the correct product with the desired adhesion value.
