Season's Greetings

That's something you'll never really hear me say. Season's Greetings. Yuck. It's right up there with yellow smiley faces and "Have a nice day."

But don't get me wrong, I'm not a Scrooge. In fact, I enjoy the holidays just as much as the next guy. But what frustrates me in our age of political correctness is that in our desire to offend no one, we acknowledge no one in the process. It's kind of sad really, isn't it?

This Saturday is Christmas. It's not my holiday. I didn't invent it and solicit exclusive members, and in fact it's been going on for what, several thousand years now? If I extend a Christmas greeting to someone, does it have to be at the exclusion of everyone that doesn't celebrate Christmas?

MERRY CHRISTMAS! There, I said it. If I hurt your feelings, I'm sorry. Now get over it.

And Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Merry Festivus while I'm at it. It doesn't really matter what religion you favor, if any, or what holiday you celebrate. It's a time of the year, a season - oh wait, maybe 'Season's Greetings' isn't so bad after all.

By the way, here's ours.
