Operation Sublimation— SGIA and Roland DG’s First Successful Mission

On November 1st 2017, Roland DGA hosted its first dye-sublimation workshop in partnership with the wide format printing industry’s trade association, SGIA. The Operation Sublimation, Mission: Wide Format Graphics event gathered together screen printers, digital graphics professionals, dye-sublimation beginners and experts at our Roland DG headquarters in Irvine, California to learn the in’s-and-out’s of dye-sublimation and color management for dye-sublimation applications.

At Adobe MAX 2017 Roland DG once again teamed up with Adobe for printing projects at the Adobe MAX event. One of these projects was a Roland DGA, Adobe and Coca-Cola collaboration that became one of the highlights of the Adobe booth.

As senior graphic designer at Roland DGA, one of my personal highlights each year is creating print samples to show-off the capabilities of our machines. We start these design and print projects by creating a pseudo print brand to showcase our specialty inks and features such as print/cut. Like everything at Roland DGA, this is a team effort and with the help of amazing freelance illustrators like Joe Diaz, these projects are always some of our most eye-catching and impressive.

Our 2014 Roland DG Creative Awards contest kicked off last week and we asked our users to submit photos of their best work produced on a Roland DG device. One weekly winner will be selected for a total of 3 weeks, based on creativity, innovation and execution. Each winner will receive a trip to Roland DG imagiNATION, our first inkjet user conference, including event admission, airfare and 4 nights at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. 21 SGIA Golden Image Awards 2013!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m amazed at what our customers do with Roland DG equipment – this time for SGIA’s Golden Image Awards. Roland DG customers won 21 awards in various categories & with multiple entries. My congratulations to each of our customers below – You guys rock!

We just wrapped up our big fall show – SGIA – for color, UV, cutter & engraving products. And with the recent introduction of the new Pro4 XR-640 at the center, it looked like it would be a good show. Turns out, it was. With record attendance over 22,000, the show was packed. Not just at the Roland DGA booth, but the whole show seemed to be buzzing with energy. It was as good a show as I’ve seen in some time, and many exhibitors I spoke with at the show echoed the same sentiment. 18%+ of attendees were international. What’s more, some 38% of all attendees were there for the 1st time. What a great first impression they must have had!

2012 ISA Show Wrap-up

ISA, our biggest show of the year, came early this year and we had a good show! We won 3 awards for top products: LEJ-640 & Matte & Glossy Backlit Film. Attendance was similar to 2-years ago when were previously in Orlando, but we had a bigger booth, more products, got more leads and do what we do best – put on a bigger & better show every year.
