Great Print Quality
The AJ-1000i delivers a maximum print resolution of 720 x 720 dpi for precision six-color CMYK+LcLm graphics with superior ink bonding, scratch resistance and alcohol resistance. For optimum performance across a wide range of media, the printer features three print head heights that can be easily adjusted. The AJ-1000i’s high-density inks image well even on flexible face media, and two light ink control profiles ensure top quality on both glossy and matte vinyl. The printer also features a high-contrast print mode that produces deeper, more vivid blues and reds while preserving the overall color balance.
Six-Color Printing
Roland six-color CMYK+LcLm inks combine with variable droplet technology to deliver more detail in the highlights, and smoother blends and transitions overall. The addition of Light Cyan and Light Magenta enhances blues and reds, ensuring flawless flesh tones and improving the overall image quality across lighter colors.
ROLAND INTELLIGENT PASS CONTROL™
Many companies are attempting to address the issue of banding with solutions that involve simply disguising the banding patterns. Roland has taken a different approach. Roland Intelligent Pass Control virtually eliminates banding by optimizing masking patterns and dot placement at the edge of each pass, overlapping and feathering consecutive passes together so that they literally become one continuous image. No edges. No banding. As a result, the AJ-1000 delivers unmatched image quality overall with smoother gradations and dense, flawless solid colors in every print mode. This patent-pending technology also increases productivity by allowing you to achieve the same visible print quality while printing at higher speeds.
EcoXtreme i Ink
Roland EcoXtreme inks were developed exclusively for the AdvancedJET to provide outstanding color density, wider gamut and rugged durability. Available in six colors (CMYK+LcLm), EcoXtreme i ink produces vibrant images even in high-speed production modes on both coated and uncoated media.
EcoXtreme i is particularly well suited for vehicle graphics and volume banner production, offering exceptional bonding with uncoated banner substrates and tarpaulin, as well as enhanced scratch and alcohol resistance for extended outdoor durability.
Choose from two formulations – EcoXtreme i for high durability of up to three years outdoors with low odor, and EcoXtreme LT for more cost-effective, short-term applications such as event signage, campaign posters and corporate ads
Optional Mesh Printing Unit
The AJ-1000i’s versatility can be further enhanced with the optional MU Mesh Printing Unit for economical unlined mesh media. Custom engineered for the AJ-1000i, the MU is easy to attach and detach and features a built-in drainage system for easy removal of excess ink. Popular for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications, mesh is particularly well suited for graphics that may be exposed to excessive wind or any graphic calling for a unique sheer look. Unlined mesh offers many advantages over lined mesh, including a lower cost per square foot. In addition, unlined mesh is easier to print, handle and transport, and it does not generate liner waste.
High-Capacity Ink Delivery System
The AJ-1000i comes equipped with high-capacity, one-liter ink cartridges for seamless unattended printing. An advanced ink delivery system allows replacement of cartridges without pausing.
Advanced Tri-Heater and Blower System
The AJ-1000i features an integrated tri-heater system and blower that make both high-speed printing and take-up possible. The heating system consists of three elements. A pre-heater opens pores in the media to improve its receptiveness. The print heater accelerates ink fastness and brightness by ensuring the ink is absorbed. Finally, the dryer and blower accelerate ink drying for better productivity, workability and scratch resistance.
Low Maintenance and Ownership Costs
The price and installation costs of many comparable printers can total several hundred thousand dollars. By comparison, an AJ-1000i printer can be purchased and installed for a fraction of this cost. Operational costs for the AJ-1000i are lower thanks to an innovative automated intelligent maintenance system that saves ink and reduces downtime. This advanced system performs routine maintenance tasks automatically, eliminating the need for time-consuming daily manual cleanings. The printer’s intelligent maintenance system even adjusts the maintenance schedule automatically depending on the room temperature. As a result, manual cleaning around the print head and capping station is required only every two weeks.
Automated Media Feed and Take Up System
The AJ-1000i includes an automated media feed and take-up system to facilitate precision unattended printing. This pre-assembled unit includes convenient front-mounted feed and take-up rollers to make loading and unloading easier, as well as an advanced tension-controlled take-up system for optimum media feed and tracking. A powerful drying system quickly dries ink and media for high-speed applications. The system handles rolls weighing up to 220 pounds.
Network Connection
Equipped with a standard 100 BASE-TX/10 BASE-T interface, the AJ-1000i connects seamlessly to office networks with a data transmission rate of 1.1MB per second. This makes it easy to configure a highly efficient printing environment.
VersaWorks RIP Software
VersaWorks RIP software has been developed exclusively for Roland inkjet printers and printer/cutters. This true Adobe PostScript 3 RIP ensures exceptional production output with unmatched ease-of-use, and incorporates the latest Adobe CPSI 3019 engine.
VersaWorks supports the Roland Color system that accurately reproduces more than 1,000 spot colors from color charts and swatch books. With VersaWorks, users can choose from print options, including a high-speed mode for production banner printing, the MAX Impact preset for vivid outdoor graphics, or Artistic mode for exceptional indoor graphics. In addition, VersaWorks features Variable Data Printing and supports up to four Roland devices simultaneously, including printers, printer/cutters and cutters. It automatically estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic so you can accurately monitor time and costs.
VersaWorks features include embedded ICC profile support, ink level adjustment tools, software proofing capabilities, error diffusion for outstanding print quality, and advanced cropping, tiling and nesting options. Support for Roland cutters allows you to pair a Roland cutter with any wide-format or desktop printer for print/cut applications. The PerfCut function produces precision perforated cut lines. VersaWorks 4.0 is fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP and 2000.
