SOLJET Takes Shop from Rags to Riches in Just Six Months

TechJet Imaging   |   Vancouver, WA

When TechJet Imaging first opened its doors for business, the new sign shop actually rolled up a large garage door. In an attempt to keep overhead expenses low, owner Don Bloodworth parked his car on the street so he could use the garage to produce banners, vehicle graphics and decals. These classic humble beginnings belong to countless sign shops across the United States.

Once that garage door opened, however, TechJet Imaging’s story reads more like a fairy tale. While most sign shop owners toil for years dreaming of expanding their business enough to relocate to a full-size shop, TechJet Imaging found instant success. It became the biggest digital inkjet wide format graphics shop in southwestern Washington in just six months.

Bloodworth selected the 54” Roland DG SOLJET printer/cutter as TechJet Imaging’s initial business asset for graphics production. Soon TechJet Imaging moved into its current state-of-the-art facility in Vancouver’s Eastridge Business Park.

“The Eco-Sol design of the SOLJET is a big selling point for many of our customers,” said Bloodworth. “It continues to be our shop’s only solvent-based printer and the only printer with integrated cutting capabilities.”

Through its rapid growth, one of TechJet’s primary strategies was to use a production process that minimized any negative impact on the environment. Bloodworth knew that more and more customers with corporate “green initiatives” are seeking vendors that share in their environmental objectives. “The Eco-Sol design of the SOLJET is a big selling point for many of our customers,” said Bloodworth. “It continues to be our shop’s only solvent-based printer and the only printer with integrated cutting capabilities.”

Today, TechJet Imaging enjoys a well-earned reputation as a sign shop that produces consistently great indoor and outdoor graphics. “We have the creativity to wow our customers and the technical expertise to give them exactly what they want,” said Bloodworth.
