No Job Too Big or Too Small

From digital cameras to the largest trailers, Brett Wood of Ocala Auto Graphics in Ocala, Florida has wrapped it all.

Wood opened his first shop in 1983 and went digital in 2005, purchasing a Roland DG VersaCAMM SP-300V 30” digital printer/cutter. Since then, he’s tackled large and small projects with plenty of imagination, as well as a certain amount of perspiration. Wood is a member of PDAA and has been trained by some of the top installers in the field. “All too often, I see a van wrap or truck wrap with peeling edges or wrinkles,” said Wood. “We set ourselves apart by ensuring our wraps not only have spectacular, lasting color, but are applied correctly, so they stay put.”

Wood relies on Roland DG’s VersaWorks software to RIP his designs. He appreciates the options for speed and print quality, as well as being able to store printed files for later use. “VersaWorks is easy to use and generates consistently excellent print results,” said Wood.

Over the years, Wood’s shop has done wraps for vehicles of every shape and size, including golf carts, scooters and a wide variety of trailers. He has earned the contract work for several local truck and trailer fleets, producing custom-designed wraps for their clients as well as printing their banners and outdoor signage.

Wood is always looking for unique things to wrap or apply vinyl to, playing close attention to design detail and quality installation. Ocala is horse country, and Wood has wrapped many barrel racing barrels. He also recently wrapped a mobile smoker trailer for a local caterer. For that job, he used Oracal 3951G and their 290 laminate, which worked well on the rough texture of the smoker cabinet.

Using a variety of materials and laminates, Wood has also wrapped floors, chairs and helmets. He wrapped a shower with a waterfall pattern, and a vending machine with the company’s name and logo. He has applied vinyl designs to personal electronics and a guitar case, and created eye-catching graphics for skimboards and rip sticks. One rainy day, Wood even wrapped his toolbox. “The VersaCAMM prints flawlessly on all the media we have used – the versatility is a real plus,” said Wood.
