Industrial Sales Manager

POSITION PURPOSE 
This field-based sales position reports directly to the CSO (Chief Strategy Officer). It is responsible for sales of the industrial products direct to end users. Products to be launched in Q1 2026 are Roland DG’s first entry into the industrial print segment, and success with them is expected to result in a broader portfolio of products over time. As a result, close alignment with local management, DG management, and global peers is necessary to ensure that lessons learned while developing this new segment are quickly shared and new ideas are acted upon. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES 
Achieve a minimum of 100% of assigned annual quota. 

Actively prospect for new customers, with a significant number of outgoing calls with targets from marketing-generated leads, sourced lists, networked contacts, and other sources. 

Provide first point of contact for prospective customers in beverage, promo, glassware and other industries relevant to sales of industrial equipment. 

Attends events to represent Roland DG and assist Marketing and Sales teams. 

Generate and deliver proposals to prospects that include equipment and consumable sales, consulting, and service. 

Maintain accurate, timely and complete records of all customer contact interactions, utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application and other company support systems. 

Provide ongoing feedback to global industrial sales team to update plans, success stories, and sales methods. 

Interact with and maintain good relationships with all other Roland DG departments and personnel. 

Actively participate with the Market Development team in planning & executing targeted ABM campaign activity. 

Other duties as directed by Supervisor. 

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS 
Performance is measured by percentage attainment of assigned revenue quota as outlined in Sales Compensation Plan. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education/Experience:  5+ years of successful direct to user outside sales or sales management experience, preferably in the beverage, packaging, or digital printing industry. Must have a strong understanding of target markets and how digital printing applications fit into manufacturing. Printer sales and knowledge preferred. 

Skills/Abilities:  

Ability to travel up to 75% 

Ability to develop creative and unique solution-based selling plans 

Demonstrated success closing complex capital equipment sales by communicating ROI to customers 

Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, problem solving and time-management skills 

Self-motivated & goal-oriented 

Strong organizational and time management skills 

Ability to develop and maintain professional business relationships 

Proficient with MS Office Suite 

Detail-oriented 

High energy & Commitment: the ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial and fast growing company 

Must have a valid driver’s license 
 
SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $125,000 + up to $40,000 variable commission plan

Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. 
Repetitive Motions: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. 
Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. 
Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time.  Exerts up to 10  lbs. of force occasionally.  (Almost all office jobs.) 

WORKING CONDITIONS
None: No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.  (Such as in a typical office.) 

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. 

Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables. 

Mathematics Ability: Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; ratio and proportion and percentage. 

Able to perform very simple algebra. 

Language Ability: Ability to read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.   

Ability to prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style. 

Ability to conduct training, communicate at panel discussions and to make professional presentations.
