Roland Customers Win Eight Golden Image Awards at SGIA 2016

Irvine, Calif., Sept. 26, 2016 – Roland DGA Corporation has announced that Roland customers won eight coveted SGIA Golden Image Awards at the recent Specialty Graphics Imaging Association (SGIA) 2016 Expo in Las Vegas.

Widely recognized as the industry’s most prominent annual forum for digital imagers and screen printers to showcase their work, the SGIA Golden Image Awards celebrate industry-leading excellence and encompass a range of categories that illustrate products and services made possible by specialty imaging technologies. This year’s winning entries were selected from hundreds of submissions by an elite team of imaging professionals who awarded gold, silver, bronze and honorable mention ribbons for the best prints.

Company: Photographic Works
Title: Magnetic-Dry Erase Board
Entry Description: Photographic Works in Tucson, Arizona created this series of magnetic dry-erase boards from dye-sublimated photographic prints on steel. The prints were produced on a Roland Texart™ RT-640 sublimation printer. 

Silver Award Winner - Category: Ad Specialty/Promotional Products
Company: Ministicks.com
Title: Ice Hockey Puck Collection
Entry Description: These customized pucks, mounted to a wooden hockey stick puck display rack were direct-printed on a Roland VersaUV® LEJ-640FT UV flatbed and are suitable for game use.

Bronze Award Winner – Category: Nameplates/True Process Color Entries
Company: Cascade Graphics
Title: Tiger Stop I/O Panel
Entry Description: This TigerStop I/O Panel was back printed with a Roland VersaUV LEC-330 wide-format printer/cutter on .060 Frosted Lexan using a Caldera RIP.

Title:  JEVO Table Top Marketing Display
Entry Description: Cascade Graphics designed and fabricated this unique table-top display using a Roland VersaUV LEC-540 wide-format printer/cutter.

Title: Cascade Graphics Calendar
Entry Description: This calendar was printed roll-to-roll using a Roland VersaUV LEC-540 wide-format printer/cutter on .010 chrome media finished with a spot flood of white ink from Cascade Graphics’ screen-printing presses.

Honorable Mention - Category: Posters (Single Sheet)
Company: Gamut Media
Title: Snoop Dogg’s NBA All-Stars
Entry Description: Gamut Media created posters of famed rapper Snoop Dogg’s favorite basketball players. The posters were printed on a Roland VersaCAMM® VS-640i wide-format printer/cutter and mounted between acrylics for Snoop’s private indoor basketball court.

Honorable Mention - Category: Unique Applications
Company: Ministicks.com
Title: 18” Baseball Bats
Entry Description: Ministicks.com used a Roland VersaUV LEJ-640FT flatbed printer to customize these miniature baseball bats with colorful, detailed graphics for use as gifts, souvenirs and awards.

Honorable Mention - Category: Interior Design
Company: Gamut Media
Title: Mimi Yoon Collection
Entry Description: Gamut Media created these stunning custom lamp and table wraps using a Roland VersaCAMM VS-640i printer/cutter and artwork from Mimi Yoon.
