Irvine, Calif., September 4, 2025 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, has introduced new D-EA2 ink for its DGXPRESS ER Series 64-inch eco-solvent large-format printers. Available now through authorized Roland DGA dealers in Latin America, D-EA2 ink is specially formulated to deliver vivid print quality with exceptional productivity at an attractive price point.
Ryugo Nimura, President of Global Sales and Marketing at Roland DG, noted, “D-EA2 ink is a newly developed eco-solvent ink that achieves the high print quality and productivity DGXPRESS is known for, at approximately half the cost. By reducing the price per milliliter and combining new ink control technology that achieves the highest image quality with the least amount of ink, we’ve significantly lowered running costs, enabling higher profits for our users.”
With optimized print profiles, ER printers using D-EA2 in a CMYK ink configuration output beautiful graphics with vibrant colors, neutral grays, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones. In addition, the ER-642 is now equipped with a significantly enhanced Roland Intelligent Pass Control 2.0, which greatly reduces banding and uneven color—even at high print speeds—while further improving image quality, color stability, and gradation reproduction.
Roland DG’s powerful and intuitive VersaWorks 7 RIP software, included with the purchase of an ER series printer, maximizes the potential of the printer and ink to make achieving optimum results faster and easier than ever before. RIP processing speeds are up to 3.9 times faster than previous versions, so large volumes of data can be processed quickly, improving productivity. In addition to Roland DG’s acclaimed “True Rich Color” print setting, which helps ensure a higher level of output quality, newly developed 16-bit rasterization technology and new dither patterns produce smooth, detailed output with minimal graininess.
With the ER series and D-EA2, a comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty is included, plus optional maintenance contracts are available to offer complete peace of mind for many years.
Customers currently using D-EA ink can easily switch to the new D-EA2 ink by performing a firmware update and simple replacement procedure themselves.
“The ER Series was introduced in select markets, including Latin America, as an eco-solvent model under the DGXPRESS brand, which focuses on delivering high productivity with attractive pricing while maintaining the exceptional print quality and reliability Roland DG’s printers are renowned for,” added Nimura. “Since its launch, these printers have received high praise from customers and industry professionals alike. Now, with the launch of new D-EA2 ink, DGXPRESS has evolved further, enabling users to meet increasing demands for shorter delivery times, reduced costs, and higher profitability. We continue to open up new creative and business possibilities for our customers around the world by providing products that respond to the needs of each and every one of our customers.”
