Growth of Danish Sign Shop Follows Addition of VersaUV LEJ

LeeSign   |   Herning, Denmark

In Jutland, Denmark, Allan Stoltenberg and his employees at LeeSign have built a business that influences exhibitions all over Europe. LeeSign began in 1979 as a classic sign shop, but within a few years founder Allan Lui Thomsen, saw a market in building stands for the growing number of Danish exhibitions.

“LeeSign invested in their first printer, a Roland VersaUV LEJ-640 hybrid UV-LED flatbed inkjet printer. This unique and affordable UV-printer allows us to print all sorts of orders in-house, whether on solid substrates such as acrylic, wood, glass and debon boards or on flexible media.”

"At LeeSign, we take pride in our versatility," says the current owner and CEO, Allan Stoltenberg. LeeSign's sign segment is mostly local while their exhibition customers include Danish brands and businesses as well as international brands.

“The ability to print directly onto almost any media has truly enabled us to create extraordinary solutions.”

Taking it In-house

To provide their large customer base with quality products and fast service, LeeSign decided that they had to control their print production. In 2011, LeeSign invested in their first printer, a Roland VersaUV LEJ-640 hybrid UV-LED flatbed inkjet printer. This unique and affordable UV-printer allows us to print all sorts of orders in-house, whether on solid substrates such as acrylic, wood, glass and debon boards or on flexible media,” says Stoltenberg.

With the LEJ-640, LeeSign has been able to add a new dimension to their business. "The ability to print directly onto almost any media has truly enabled us to create extraordinary solutions," says Stoltenberg. “Today we build exhibition stands for brands such as John Deere, Oscars Bouillon and BBC England . One of the most spectacular booths we havebuilt was a Top Gear theme booth for BBC England featuring a life-sized Stig figure printed on the LEJ-640."

“The LEJ-640 has been a fantastic tool,” says Stoltenberg. “We use the LEJ-640 for the large outdoor prints at Herning’s football stadium, home of one of Denmark’s leading soccer teams. We also used it to create indoor signage for an ice hockey arena and a museum.”
