TIFF
Raster or Photoshop files such as JPEG and TIFF are images that are defined by a series of pixels (dots). Typically raster files are photographic files.
Vector or Illustrator files such as PDF and EPS are images that are defined by mathematical shapes. Typically logos, text and basic shapes are vector files.
Note that while raster files are preferable for photographic images, Vector files can be scaled up and down in size without loss of image quality.
