Question
How can tell when its time to replace the waste ink collector unit? I'm seeing a "near-end" error on the panel display. My printer is still working though.

Answer
The Ink Collector Unit (for waste ink) is 80% full.

You can confirm the amount of ink in the collector unit and it is based on 6 ranks or ink level inside the unit. % 0/20/40/60/80/100%. It will be displayed on the panel.

  • Near-end error means the collector is 80% full
  • Important: Once you reach 100% the printer will not function.
  • Be prepared to have a brand new collector available well in advance.

Never attempt to open or clean out a full ink collector.

The ink collector has an internal ID chip that automatically resets the counter when installing a new one.

The accessory item is used to collect waste ink in the BT-12 printer. Each ink collector is good for up to 4000 prints depending on image size and print quality.
