Email Frequency – When Is Enough Too Much?

Has this ever happened to you? I signed up for a promotional newsletter from a cruise line and began receiving updated pricing and availabilities approximately every three weeks or so. A year later, I’m suddenly receiving an email a day and sometimes two! Seriously?

If you’re like me, once an e-newsletter or promotional email blast starts filling up your in-box every day, you probably hit “unsubscribe.” After all, who has time to actually read about every new shoe offered at Nordstrom, or the daily pizza offer from Groupon?

The key question is how much is too much?

Here at Roland DGA we try to be conscientious about the quantity and type of communications we send. It can be a delicate balancing act between getting the news out and not overwhelming our loyal customers and friends.

Whenever possible, we combine newsworthy announcements. For Roland DG Owners Only features software updates, upcoming “how to” webinars, media promotions, etc., and goes out just once a month to our registered inkjet owners. R-Mail is emailed two to four times a year to an opt-in list of those people interested in new products and promotions, including customers, prospects, bloggers and industry influentials.

We send out weekly webinar announcements to the appropriate Roland DG owners. There are also infrequent announcements of coming trade shows, Born To Wrap workshops, new products and product enhancements. So, depending upon who you are and what you’re interested in, you might get a couple of emails one week and none the next.

We’d like your feedback. Tell us your preference.

Thanks for sharing!
