Symptom
Cutting too deep into the liner, backing material or also called the carrier paper.
Cause
It might be caused by too much blade extension in the blade holder or an unknown blade that does not meet Roland specifications. Too much blade force (too high a gram force) for this material.

Solution
1. Refer to the User Manual- Adjust the amount of blade extension beyond the adjustment cap on the blade holder.
2. Also check for "Detailed Cutting Condition Settings" in Users Manual, Adjust cut down force and cutting speed.
